Is Your Car in Need of a Service?

The modern car has been designed to only need a service once a year, however most older cars, or those that cover a high number of miles, may require a service up to every 6 months.

You should refer to your manufacturer’s service handbook for details of service intervals, although most modern cars will tell you when they are in need of a service. However it is important to take your usage into account.

Full Service

We recommend a Full Service approximately every 10,000 miles or once a year, depending on manufacturer requirements and previous service history.

Its a full check, with filter replacements, fluid top ups and all the necessary adjustments. If unsure of your vehicles service requirements or schedule please feel free to contact us and we will be only to glad to help.

Interim Service

If you are a low mileage user then an Interim service between full services is for you.

An Interim service offers you most of the checks a full service does minus the adjustments and certain filter replacements.

Block Exemption

Before the Block Exemption Regulations (BER) came into effect, motorists were required to have their vehicle servicing and repairs at the main dealer so as not to risk invalidating the vehicle's warranty. The EC Block Exemption Regulation 1400/2002 (October 2003) allows motorists the flexibility to select where they get their car serviced.

Thanks to this legislation, maintenance and service work can now be carried out away from the main dealer network as long as the garage uses Original Equipment 'Matching Quality'  (OEM) parts, and they are recorded as such. The garage must follow the manufacturer's service schedules.

The Block Exemption Regulation covers service and maintenance during the warranty period and prohibits vehicle manufacturers’ warranties from including conditions that require:

  • All normal maintenance be provided within the vehicle manufacturer’s network
  • All parts used must be the manufacturer’s original spare parts
